(Delayed) Earth Day Giveaway - CLOSED

GIVEAWAY CLOSED -
STAY TUNED WHILE I TABULATE ENTRIES.
*************************************************************
Please forgive me of my first blog hiccup.
I wanted this post out to celebrate Earth Day and… well…
I kinda missed the mark. However, since we can always use a reminder to conserve our resources and reduce our waste I’m going to go ahead with it anyway.
Better late than never.
*************************************************************
Annie over at Annies-eats.net is my food blog mentor. (she might know this due to the   frequency in which I comment and visit her site.) She has an amazing blog and someday when my blog grows up, I want it to be just like hers  -  beautiful, helpful and full of posts that make people smile.

Since I began following annies-eats.net, she has hosted a self-sponsored giveaway on Earth Day. Chic and Classy – who wouldn’t want to be apart of that?  Sure I’m only out of the food blogging gates a week (hence the tardiness of this post) but I really wanted to do this too, so here it is...
... Apron Appeal’s first giveaway!

4 Reusable Grocery Bags
(Made by yours truly that all look exactly like this)

About The Bags:
They are patterned after my favorite grocery bag from Target.
They are lined with a light blue fabric (so you can see what is inside each bag).
They have no raw seams or exposed over-locked thread edges.
They have huge gussets on the bottom so you can really fill these puppies up.
They can be machined washed & dried with whichever heat setting you feel necessary.
They come to you pre-washed
They are constructed so you’ll never have to worry about your bag tearing under the weight of your groceries again! J

The giveaway is open until Noon on Friday, April 29, 2011 and the winner will be chosen randomly out of  “a hat” (There really isn’t a hat, it’s just a computer program that picks one winner at random but we’ll call it a hat, because it’s shorter).
To enter:
LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS POST.
It can be about anything you'd like...
what you do to take care of the planet...
favorite item to grow in a garden...
food you are craving right now...
just be sure to leave a cyber trail that allows me to contact you should you win and also let me know if you complete entry items #1 & 2.

To accumulate more entries  - and increase you chances of winning complete the following:
1.    Become a fan of ApronAppeal's facebook fan page.
2.    Become a follower of ApronAppeal.com (on the side bar to the left).
3.    Refer a friend to ApronAppeal.com (an extra entry will be given to you for each friend that references your name in their giveaway entry comment.)
4.    Throughout the contest, keep an eye on the facebook fan page -when you see a post originating from Apron Appeal, “like” it or comment on it, and you’ll get another entry. (You can get one extra entry per “liked” facebook  post.)

If you are already a follower of this blog or have already “liked” the fan page all you have to do is leave a comment and you’ll have three entry points in your favor….Now how easy is that?

After the giveaway closes at Noon on Friday April 29, 2011, I’ll post the winner.

Thank you in advance for helping me “grow” my blog. May this be the beginning of many, many more giveaways and great food posts to come!
Gwenevere

  4. Good luck with the blog! Love the patterned bags, and REALLY appreciate the Earth Day shout out. You have actually inspired me to be more environmentally conscience with what I eat. Ever since I heard you talk about buying shares in a cow I've been drinking organic milk and trying to do things more organically. Maybe one day I'll be up for going in for the cow with you!...but I don't like butter in my milk! =)

  6. Those are beautiful! I would be proud to use those. :-) I like that they are washable too. I bought 2 really nice bags to use for groceries and the next day they had the story on the news about all the germies on reusuable bags and the bags I got would be a pain to sanitize so I ended up not using them as I had intended. :-/

  7. Hmmmm, favorite thing to grow in my garden...herbs. The squirrels don't eat them so I actually get something out of them (unlike my tomatoes and zucchini).

    The bags look great!

  8. I realize I have contributed significantly to the disposable diapers in landfills over the past 21 months with my twins...but I do strive to help the earth by recycling. We recycle plastic, cans, aluminum cans, paper, cardboard, magazines & glass. It's amazing how much of that we accumulate!! Oh- and I love reusable bags:)

  9. These bags are wonderful. Some of the ways I try and do my part to conserve are recycling everything I can (especially all of the magazines I read), taking shorter showers, turning off lights, and washing larger loads of laundry.

  35. Gwen, have you been busy! What an amazing, fun feat your blog is. I love cooking and recycling and try to plant a few vegetables every summer before they inevitably get run down by weeds or pulled by my eager children who try to "help" me weed. Congratulations!

  41. Love your blog! Thanks for letting me know about it. The bags look way super cute and professional. Are you planning on making/selling them? I'd be very tempted to buy a few (even if my name is the one randomly drawn from a "hat").

I am terrified to plant a garden. Our new home has a section already set aside for a garden and I just don't know if I can motivate myself to plant anything. Although, it would be nice to have fresh from the garden zucchini, squash, and tomatoes.

  42. Thanks for the heads up about your blog! Love it! Love those bags, I need to be better about using my own!
